Weald Man

In the forests of Sussex, a blacksmith named Simon Summers works by the old ways. He stewards an iron-age fort, and his days are shaped by the seasons: managing the woodland, burning charcoal, weaving hedgerows and forging Celtic artwork in copper repoussé. After the loss of his horse, his best friend, he carries on alone, though the Weald and the animals keep him company. At times, it becomes indistinguishable where the man as individual begins and the woodland as ecosystem ends.

Il Fö

In the remote Val Fex, blacksmith Roger Rominger forges knives and tends the land as his ancestors did. Each winter he clears snow from the holiday chalets that have replaced the valley's farmhouses—homes that stand empty most of the year. When Chalandamarz arrives, the ancient festival that drives winter from the valley, his children carry the bells he once carried himself. Moving between the forge, the empty houses, and the festival, Il Fö asks what it takes to keep a fire burning across generations, as the world around it changes.

Otra Vart

Adriano Coretti works two sides of the same valley. In the forests above St. Moritz he fells timber and labours on the resort’s construction; below, he tends the family farm his grandparents built after arriving from Val Bregaglia, raising cattle he names and knows, preparing to take it over as his parents step back. Narrated in his own Putèr Romansh, Otra Vart holds two worlds in the same frame: the valley as inheritance and the valley as spectacle; in a place the world knows only from the outside.

Possibility
